Having an organized home does not mean you have to give up having a stylish home as well! You can easily have both and all it boils down to is picking the right products for your home. One of my favorite <a href="http://www.easy2organize.com/category/home-organization/"title="" >home organization products are the Closetmaid Cubeicles. The closetmaid cubes are great because they are functional as well as decorative and they can be used in just about any room. You can get them in a variety of colors like white, cherry, espresso, black and alder, they’re stackable and they come in a variety of sizes such as 2, 3, 6, 7 & 9 cubes. If you want to take your organization a step further, you can buy fabric drawers separately in a variety of colors to match any room and they make storing things a breeze! Here’s a few places I like to use the Closetmaid cubeicles:

The Kids Room: one of my favorite places to put them is in the kids room. The reason I like them for the kids room is because when you buy the fabric drawers you can store a wide variety of toys, school supplies, and knick knacks and it won’t be an eye sore in the room. In fact, if you coordinate the fabric drawer colors you can have a stylish piece of kids bedroom furniture that will last for years. And, as your kids get older and their tastes change you can buy different drawer colors to match their rooms and it’s a fairly inexpensive change. It’s also easy to wipe clean so if you have young kids with messy hands you don’t have to worry about them ruining this piece of furniture.

The Entry Way: Typically when the family gets home from school or work they take off their shoes, throw their stuff on the nearest piece of furniture and then the disorganization sets in! The cubes are perfect at the entry way to store lunch pails, brief cases, wallets, keys, and cell phones. You name it and you can have a cubby hole for it. You can even designate cubby holes for each person in the family so there’s no arguing or confusion about who’s stuff goes where.

Living Room or Den: The closetmaid cubicles can be used for a variety of things in the living room or den. One of my favorite ways to use It is to organize books. I’ve had a few avid book lovers use the cubes as a way to organize all their books neatly. If you have a smaller budget it really makes for a nice looking book shelf. You can also mix and match by having some books stored in a few cubes and add a nice small plant in another or some photographs. Really makes it a nice piece of furniture for the room. You can also use it to store toys if you have children. This way your living room is kept clean and no one will ever know what’s in the drawers! Your living room looks stylish and the kids have a place to put their things.

The Closet: If you need to get your closet organized you can buy a smaller 3, 6 or closetmaid 9 cube organizer. You can use it to store shoes, purses, hats or purchase some drawers to store intimates, socks and things like that.

The Office: Office furniture can be extremely expensive and so if you are trying to get your office organized on a budget then these cubes will be a perfect solution for you! You can use them to store additional office supplies, paper, staplers, and knick knacks that you want to keep off your desk. You can also use the cubes as a nice way to decorate your office as well by adding picture and plants to give it a warmer feel.

Before you buy your closetmaid cubes, determine where they are going so you know what color to get to match your furniture and the size so that you have enough space to organize everything you need. They really are a versatile organization product that you can move from room to room. I absolutely love them!

I’ve mentioned in a few articles that the kids room is one of the hardest areas to organize and keep it organized. Why? Because kids are in and out of EVERYTHING! Not that I blame them, I mean, that’s what kids are supposed to do but for a mom it can be a constant battle of keeping everything off the floor. However there are a lot of toys and items that kids don’t need access to all the time or even at all but you don’t necessarily want to stash them away. You want to display them in their room in a fun way so that they can have access to them if they need it or just to show off some of their things.

For example, a friend of mine collects books for her daughter and so she wanted to display the books in her room. She wanted to be able to display and access the books so she could read them to her daughter but she wants them to remain in tact and so she installed a pink shelf and a white shelf, staggered them and placed the books on the shelves. It’s a cute decoration for her daughter’s room AND she has all the books organized. Here’s some of my favorite shelves for kids rooms that you may like. These shelves are perfect to display collectors items, stuffed animals, favorite toys, awards, photos etc all while reducing clutter in your kids rom! They’re not only functional but they’re fun and super cute!

For The Girls:

Whether she’s your little princess or your little cupcake, these kids room shelves are adorable! Pick one that has peg hooks to make even more use out of it to hang coats, scarfs and hats if you need to. They’re great for displaying things and are great for decoration!
However, kid’s storage doesn’t have to be overly expensive. There are a lot of great options out there. I am a bargain shopper (it’s a need when you have kids) and so here are a few ideas to help keep your kids room organized.

For older kids, the Prepac Black Sonoma bookcase headboard bedroom set is a dream come-true not just for the kids but the mom as well. Prepac is known for making great quality furniture, and the Sonoma collection is one of them. They may have the look of furniture costing a lot, but their price is not too bad. You can find the set on sale for around $200 and the original price being $350, this is sure a deal you just need to grab. It will help turn any kids room into a sleek organized area that they, and you will enjoy.

If you are looking for a whole set of kids’ bedroom storage, then you might want to consider the Sand Castle 7-piece Bedroom Set. Priced around $800 to $900, the whole collection includes a twin-size bed, bookcase headboard, nightstand, storage bench, a six-drawer dresser, and a mirror. All of this furniture comes in a white finish, which can be used by both boys and girls. If you are looking for a hassle-free purchase, then this set is what you’re looking for.

If you have a little girl, then the LC Kids Enchantment White Metal Bedroom set is what you want. All of the furniture within this set is made up of durable powder-coat hardware, which is sure to make the furniture last. If there are words that best describe the storage set, those are lovely, beautiful and simple. This bedroom set is perfect for making every little girl’s fairy tale come true, as sleeping with these furniture surrounding you will sure make you feel like a princess.

If a bedroom set is not what you are looking for and you are in need of a few pieces of kids bedroom storage then here are a few other suggestions. Toy boxes and toy chests are great for younger kids as they can store a variety of different items in them from stuff animals to army men. If you are looking for a unit to store a lot of items in one area then you should buy a kid friendly toy storage bin organizer. This allows you to store multiple items in an organized way. You can label each container so that everyone knows where everything goes. For example one container can be labeled crayons, pens and coloring books, another container for army men, another container for legos and so on.

There’s no need to spend a fortune when buying kids’ bedroom storage furniture. Yes, we love our kids and we always want the best for them but pushing to buy something that we can hardly afford is not showing love for them—it’s spoiling them. Look around online and try to search for the furniture featured in this article, then you would see how beautiful they are, without costing you an arm and a leg.

In a previous article I wrote about my love for plastic storage boxes, and It got my mind going about all the other great storage solutions that can help keep your things neatly tucked away and out of sight. One particular type of storage that I find very useful but is often overlooked by most are kids storage lockers. I think that most people don’t consider <a href="http://www.easy2organize.com/kids-storage-organization/"title="" >kids storage lockers for home because you immediately get this picture in your head of big clunky metal storage lockers that you had in high school or at the gym. Locker storage has come a long way and this isn’t your old high school locker I am talking about!! The ones I particularly love are the play lockers for kids. If you have kids then you have your fair share of toys, school supplies, books, movies, messes and probably accidents from tripping over everything on the floor. I have three sisters, I am the oldest, and I can tell you that when I was growing up I can remember a fight or two (OK, maybe hundreds) about that being “my stuff so don’t touch it!” Sound familiar? If you have this problem, this is where getting a storage locker for your kids will become VERY handy.

I am sure the first thought that comes to mind is that kids locker furniture is expensive, but you can find ones that are pretty inexpensive. You can get a mini kids locker starting around $20 and they come in a variety of colors so your kids can pick what they like. Choosing a different color for each child will make it easy to identify who’s is who’s. The mini kids locker is perfect for storing some of the little toys, school supplies, movies or any other little thing your child does not want to fall into anyone elses hands. The kids storage lockers can be locked with a padlock so that there will be no getting into anyone elses locker, only you and your child will have the code. Your kids can decorate them with stickers or pictures, and trust me, it will save a lot of fighting!!

If you have older kids that play sports, you can get kids sports lockers for home for their room or the garage. You can even find lockers decorated with their favorite sports teams. These are ideal if you have a kid who has a lot of sports clothes or equipment like bats, helmets, balls, knee pads, or shoes and if you set them up in the garage it will keep all that sports odor out of your home. These are really a great purchase to keep all your sports equipment in one spot and can help avoid the constant questions like “have you seen my uniform?” “Do you know where my mitt is?” “Where are my cleats?”. If you have a big sports buff in the house that does not particularly play but has some sports memorabilia they would like to display these are also great for that.

Do you have a daycare or maybe babysit a few of the neighbors kids often? You may want to consider cubby lockers. I love these things. They are so neat and cute! You can buy a simple foot cubby locker for the kids to put their shoes or books in and they usually come with a cushion on top so the kids can sit down and take off their shoes. Or you can get the wall mounted cubby lockers with a built in coat rack so the kids can walk right in, hang up their jackets or backpacks, put their school books and papers in their designated cubby and be on their way to playing. The kids help you stay organized and they don’t even know it.

So you can see that storage lockers are really a great option to think about especially if you have children. I know that finding the right kids storage solutions is not always easy but these are perfect for any garage, play room or day care and will save you from having papers scattered everywhere, coats and backpacks thrown on the floor or the constant complaining that their brother or sister took their favorite item. Be sure to visit a few retailers to get some ideas about styles and pricing.
